I wanted to write something new for this community, but I've been swamped with various other things, so I thought I'd link to some of my older stories that focus on female characters I particularly like:
Under Pressure, DC Comics, Grace Choi, gen with some het and femslash, R. The shortest distance between two points is rarely a straight line. My attempt to make the best of an abuse/slavery backstory that I wished she hadn't been saddled with.
Course of Study, PotC, Elizabeth Swann and Hector Barbossa, gen. There's a lot to learn on the way to Singapore about being a pirate. A look at Elizabeth on her way from young lady to Pirate King.
Like a Leaf on the Water, PotC, Mistress Cheng(/Sao Feng/OMC), R. My attempt to do better by the Chinese pirates than AWE did.
Nine Pieces of Eight, PotC, Calypso and others. Nine people Calypso visited in dreams after the end of AWE.
Summer Holidays, HP, Hermione Granger, gen with some het. After saving the world, it's time to figure out what to do next. Hermione post-DH, growing up and moving on.
Afternoon's Liberty, Temeraire, Jane Roland and Emily Roland, gen. Jane and Emily in a brief moment of quiet.
Deal, XMM, Mystique and Pyro, gen, PG-13. My attempt to deal with X3 canon for Mystique, which I hated.
Temporary, XMM, Rogue, gen with some het, PG-13. My attempt to deal with X3 canon for Rogue, which I hated. (There's starting to be a theme in these summaries, isn't there?)
Unrepentant, XMM, Mystique, gen with some het and genderbending, NC-17. A Mystique character study, set between the first two X-Men movies.
Four Ways of Coming out of the Cold, XMM, Ororo Munroe, gen. Four ways Ororo might have met Charles Xavier.
Fear the Rest, XMM, Jean Grey and Erik Lehnsherr, some het and slash, NC-17. A novel-length backstory for the X-Men and Brotherhood of Mutants, focusing on Jean as one of the two main point of view characters; there's also a fair amount about Mystique, although from Erik's point of view.
