Summary: .Max is here. He's been in Chicago for almost two weeks. He's clean. He's sober. He's doing a survey of the ER, evaluating the feasibility of a dedicated pediatric emergency unit. And he wants to take Anna home.

 

Reccer's Notes: So this picks up at what was literally the end of the character's world on ER, when she leaves and goes back to Pittsburg. Except it spins that off and gives the character a possibly happier ending. It fits the theme additionally because the girl is really struggling through the whole fic and certain the world will end if she stays in Chicago (but may equally end if she leaves.) It's a lovely fic for a character who does not get a lot of love in the fandom.
